Coach Thor’s background
A life in tennis
Thor Schreck began his competitive tennis journey playing varsity tennis at Berkeley High School. He continued at Diablo Valley College, where he played No. 1 singles, and then at Hayward State, where he competed in the top singles positions.
Coach Thor also competed as a USTA Open and Satellite player. His experience as a player shaped a practical, demanding, and supportive approach to tennis instruction.
He is a USTA High Performance Coach, Safe Play Certified, and a USPTA Master Professional. Coach Thor has led varsity programs at Northgate High School and Carondelet High School.
Over the course of his career, he has worked with hundreds of junior players, including athletes who earned sectional and national rankings and athletic scholarships.
